Common Questions

Before Scheduling

A few helpful things to know before requesting care with Honeybee Psychiatry.

Do I need to know my diagnosis before requesting an appointment?

No. Many patients reach out because something doesn't feel quite right, but they're unsure why. A psychiatric evaluation can help identify possible causes and appropriate treatment options.

What ages does Honeybee see?

Honeybee Psychiatry generally provides care for children, teens, and adults ages 8–40.

Which states does Honeybee provide care in?

Honeybee Psychiatry provides telehealth psychiatric evaluations and medication management in Colorado, New York, and Washington. Our physical office is located in Denver, Colorado.

Are appointments available by telehealth?

Yes. Most appointments take place virtually, allowing patients throughout Colorado, New York, and Washington to receive care from home. Limited in-person appointments are also available at our Denver office when appropriate for the treatment plan.

Do I need to be in my home state during a telehealth appointment?

You must be physically located in Colorado, New York, or Washington at the time of your appointment. You do not necessarily need to be at your home address, but you must be in a state where your provider is authorized to treat you.

Does Honeybee accept insurance?

Honeybee participates with several major insurance networks, primarily in Colorado. Coverage and network participation may differ in New York and Washington. We can help review your insurance information before scheduling so you understand your options.

Can I pay without using insurance?

Yes. Self-pay is available regardless of your state. The current self-pay rate is $300 for an initial psychiatric evaluation and $100 for follow-up medication management.

Does Honeybee provide therapy?

Honeybee focuses on psychiatric evaluations and medication management rather than psychotherapy. We can discuss therapy referrals or coordinate with your existing therapist when helpful.
